September 14, 2012 - The search continues for
Michael Sills, 63, a Central Florida pilot who
has threaten to commit suicide after the breakup
of his girlfriend. Sills had reported he was
going to kill himself by flying his aircraft
into the home he shared with his girlfriend on
Azalea Way in Winter Garden,
Florida.
On Tuesday Sills’ girlfriend reported she told
police she received a phone text message stating
"In plane Calling police is to late." On Tuesday
investigators located Sills' car at the Orlando
Apopka Airport. Winter Garden police report
Sills’ car appeared to have its exhaust system
hooked up to the car in such a way for a suicide
attempt. Police also found blood in the car.
It is believed that Sills took off Took off
Tuesday night from Apopka Airport at about 8:30
PM in his single
engine Piper Archer aircraft,
N2453U. Sills was last tracked in Zellwood area
of Orange County through Metro PCS.
Investigators believe Sills may have landed at
another airport or crashed his plane in a remote
area.
On Monday police were called out to the home
after Sills and his girlfriend had broken up and
Sills had talked of suicide. However, Stills
told police that he was ok. |
