The G5000 installation on the Beechjet 400A and Hawker
400XP includes a fully digital, dual channel, fail
passive automatic flight control system (AFCS). It
includes coupled wide area augmentation system
(WAAS/SBAS) approaches, vertical navigation, and flight
level change (FLC) capability. The system features
TAWS-B alerting as standard with optional TAWS-A, as
well as geo-referenced Garmin FliteCharts and Garmin
SafeTaxi which displays the location of runways,
taxiways, FBOs, and hangars. The upgrade will also
support Reduced Vertical Separation Minimum (RVSM)
operations.
The new Beechjet 400A and Hawker 400XP G5000 flight deck
will feature Synthetic Vision Technology (SVT) as an
option, which presents 3D depictions of virtual terrain,
obstacles, traffic and the runway environment so that
the image on the display replicates what pilots would
see outside the cockpit on a clear day. SVT works
seamlessly to alert pilots of potential ground hazards
by displaying terrain and obstacles which pose a threat
to the aircraft with appropriate TAWS alert coloring, as
well as voice alerts. The G5000 flight deck will support
a wide array of options, including:
•Advanced weather radar capabilities such as turbulence
detection and ground clutter suppression
•
Geo-referenced display of terminal procedures featuring
Garmin ChartView, powered by Jeppesen
•
Garmin Connext services including satellite access to
worldwide weather, voice calling and text messaging
•
SiriusXM Satellite Weather for U.S. and Canada which
provides comprehensive weather data such as NEXRAD,
METAR, lightning, winds aloft, echo tops
•
NextGen/SESAR compliance with ADS-B In and ADS-B Out
capabilities
•
Industry leading active and passive traffic surveillance
functionality using advanced
• TCAS II/ACAS II technology, featuring Garmin’s
patented CLEAR CAS (Correlated Location Enhanced ADS-B
Receiver Collision Avoidance System), which uses a
blended surveillance method of active interrogation and
passive reception of ADS-B data |
