Teen Goes On Shooting Spree At FedEx Facility At Cobb County Airport
 
 

May 1, 2014 - Kennesaw police report that on Tuesday Geddy Kramer a 19 year old employee at the FedEx facility as a baggage handler located at Cobb County Airport - McCollum Field went into work and went on a shooting spree shooting six people before killing himself. 

At about 5:45 AM, Kramer drove his car up to the security gate at 1675 Airport Road, got out of his car and shot the security guard. Kramer then walked into the FedEx facility and began shooting fellow employees. 

About three hours later the 19 year old was found near a loading bay dead of a self inflicted gunshot wound. Authorities report the 19 year old was dressed all in black with camouflage vest that he had bullets strapped to his chest like “Rambo” and he was armed with a shotgun and handguns.

 

David Baldwin of the Marietta Police Department reported the victims were taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital, he said that a 28 year security guard was in critical condition, three are in stable condition (52 year old woman, 19 year old man and 22 year old man) and two have been treated and released (42 year old woman and 38 year old man). 

The police placed the facility on lockdown and employees arriving to work were sent away. Several nearby roads were closed off including Old Highway 41 between McCollum and Cobb parkways. The FBI found four incendiary devices at the scene reportedly resembled Molotov cocktails. The devices did not go off. 

At about 7:20 AM FedEx released a statement that stated "FedEx is aware of the situation. Our primary concern is the safety and well-being of our team members, first responders and others affected. FedEx is cooperating with authorities."

At about 9:20 AM FedEx released a second statement that stated “We can confirm that an incident occurred early Tuesday morning at a FedEx Ground facility in Kennesaw, Georgia. Our thoughts and prayers are with those affected, and with their families and friends. We are grateful for the assistance of law enforcement. The situation is now stabilized and we are focused on the needs of our team members and cooperating with the law enforcement investigation of this tragedy."
